This award is a reflection of the excellent research being undertaken by members of the GPU Club and in recognition of the University's rich history and continuing development using emerging technology.

The NVIDIA GPU (formally CUDA) is a parallel computing platform and programming model, that enables a dramatic increase in computing performance by harnessing the power of the GPU (graphics processing unit). As a GPU Research Centre, Manchester has been recognised as a university that has a growing community of researchers that embrace and utilise GPU computing across multiple research fields.
